The Umar Boxing Program, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, publicly supported organization serving Baltimore City. Contributions are fully deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Staff Biographies
Mr. Marvin McDowell, President/Executive Director
7-time South Atlantic Boxing Association champion, former professional boxer, past president of the South Atlantic Boxing Association, USA Boxing certified trainer and a member of Maryland’s boxing hall of fame.
Ms. Joyce V. Dunston - educator in the BCPS system for the past thirty-six (36) years. Holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Morgan State University and a master's degree from Coppin State University.
Ms. Gwendolyn R. Tapp - educator in the BCPS for the past thirty (30) years and an adjunct professor at Baltimore City Community College. Holds a bachelor's degree in special education from Coppin State University and a master's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
